As a result, it can reveal the sex of your baby. These tests look for genetic abnormalities just like the cell-free DNA. Since Panorama is a screening test, the results regarding genetic abnormalities could be false positives or false negatives.Īny possible diagnosis you receive should be confirmed with further testing.Ī little later on in your pregnancy, your doctor may give you the option of having an amniocentesis or chorionic villi sampling (CVS). It’s important to note that this test is not recommended for women carrying multiples, using donor eggs, or those who have received a bone marrow transplant. Your child’s sex chromosomes are among all that other genetic information.Ĭompared to similar screens (Verifi, MaternitT21, Harmony), Panorama claims a 100 percent accuracy rate with determining fetal sex. Instead, they screen for possible genetic abnormalities. The main goal of these tests is not to determine the sex of your child. You can get one as early as around week 9 in your pregnancy. Though heart rate measurements may not tell you if you should buy pink or blue nursery paint, there are plenty of other tests that can tell you your baby’s sex before you deliver.īlood tests called cell-free DNA tests have cropped up over the last several years. Here’s what the research says about heart rate and the sex of your baby. Some even shared that their boys actually had higher heart rates, while others shared that their girls had lower beats per minute. For example, on, most women reported that this myth did not work. Though many women swear heart rate clued them in, the overall results are mixed at best. Still, you can find lots of forum topics across the web on this subject. They continue to increase until they peak around week 9, between 140 and 170 bpm for boys and girls alike. ![]() The beats per minute (bpm) start at a slow 90 to 110 bpm and increase daily. You can even see and measure this flicker of light on an ultrasound. The truth is, your baby’s heart will likely start beating sometime around week 6 of your pregnancy. If it’s over 140 bpm, you’re having a baby girl. You may have heard that your baby’s heart rate can predict its sex as early as the first trimester. There are lots of old wives’ tales surrounding pregnancy. In fact, there seems to be little difference in the average beats per minute between males and females. The idea that a baby’s heart rate can predict this sex is a myth. ![]() There are the same numbers of tones, but less duplicates tones in Cmaj7 (one) compared to C major (two). Cmaj7 could be considered as richer in sound than the ordinary C major. (Even on the piano, when things like this aren't forced, notes are sometimes left out because it otherwise would be too much harmonic notes together with additional melody notes.)įor the C chord, a B note can be added to create another flavor and that chord is called Cmaj7 (‘maj’ stands for major).īy releasing the second string (B-string) we have got – as the picture above shows – the following notes: C, E, G, B and C. The fifth note, is the note that is commonly skipped in these cases. Due to the construction of the guitar we sometimes have to skip some less important note in a chord. As you may have noticed we no longer have a G note. The C7 chord consists of the notes C, E, Bb, C and E. When the letter is followed by a number, but without the maj/m abbreviations, it's often a dominant chord. ![]() C7 also represent a third chord category: dominant chords. The name of this chord is C7 and if you hear some blues in it you’re completely on the spot – these kinds of chords are regularly used in the style of blues. To accomplish new tone colors, additional notes can be added. Because of this, you hear more major chords in fast rock songs and lots of minor chords in ballads. There is a difference in sound between these: the major tends to sound cheerful or neutral as the minor has more of a sad character. We sometimes play the same note twice but in different octaves to get a richer sound.Ī common way to separate guitar chords is in major and minor. In this specific C chord (a chord can be played in many ways), there are five notes played together: C, E, G (open string), C and E (open string). ![]() Let’s look at the C major chord, which includes the notes C, E and G. The reality is that for 99% of use cases a threat actor isn’t going to ransack your house searching for a master password, nor your office for that matter. Practise typing the result over and over to get that muscle memory working, and if you are a 1Password user, be sure to save the “emergency kit” that can be printed out and stored somewhere secure. I’d also avoid unchecking the “full words” box as this produces gibberish words that aren’t really easier than a long password to memorise. Other services, of course, are also available, such as Kaspersky's own password generator.Īs I say, don’t go for anything too short as this is the key that unlocks all your other passwords. Just select the “memorable password” dropdown, set the number of words to something you are comfortable with, and you’re away. Did you see what I did there? Anyway, it has a password generator that anyone can use – which has the option of generating a passphrase using random words. Which is where one password manager, in fact 1Password, comes in. These would, of course, need to be random rather than your idea of random. Instead, go for five or six, or more if your memory will allow. Just three words, no matter how random, would make a spectacularly poor master password if you ask me. Rather than go over old ground involving muscle memory, encrypted USB sticks (which need yet another password) or a biometric device (JEMpass) and even dice with multiple patterns rolled randomly into a locked box (DiceKeys), let’s approach this from the three random words angle. Of course, the perennial problem of master password creation rears its very ugly head once more. ![]() That way you can create truly random and complex and extremely long passwords, or the application can, and have a unique one for every login. ![]() Skip the whole three words thing, don’t mention it at all, go straight for the “use a password manager dammit” jugular. What I am suggesting is that, rather than getting people to use three supposedly random words, it would be far better to advise them to use some form of secure password manager instead. This is true, and I’m not suggesting that Password, or or even is a super-duper credential to be using. Their argument generally being along the same lines as the NCSC, that adopting a three random words approach will create stronger passwords than those we often see being used and reused today. ![]() Look, I perfectly understand plenty of security professionals disagree with me here. “Phrases like young man which come up often in speech are proportionately more likely to be chosen than rare phrases like young table” the research concluded. Its evidence on multi-word passphrases was pretty damning: “By our metrics, even five-word phrases would be highly insecure against offline attacks,” the researchers found, because people naturally sway towards speech rather than randomness. There’s a really interesting piece of research from the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory, admittedly now almost a decade old but still relevant, that explains this very well. ![]() Humans just don’t do randomness well that’s why there are computer-me-bobs for creating truly random stuff, and more on that later. ![]() "The zoo's first project is a zip line that will take guests over the waterways and treetops to a height of 150 feet, returning them to ground level at nearly 30 mph," the news release read.Īlthough the cost of installation for this attraction has more than doubled since the concept was first approved over a year ago, it will more than pay for itself after two years in operation, according to the news release. Moments of intentional rest are key for everyone, including your pastor. This is the reality for many pastors and clergy persons as the demands of ministry life never seem to stop. Now, imagine if you didn’t get a vacation. Imagine if you didn’t have weekends or whatever two days you normally have off from your job. Plan for them to take a trip in a few months that will allow them to have a mental health break from the planning and preparation that happens weekly for both in-person and online worship.Įveryone needs a break. Pastors and faith leaders struggle with burnout, the financial struggles of taking time off, and the stress of carrying the ministry load of pastoring without a break.ĭuring this month of clergy appreciation, I challenge your ministry teams to think about and plan for ways to give your pastor and clergy some rest. Of course, we can’t discuss rest and sabbatical for pastors without delving into why it’s so important. Yet working a day job and pastoring a church – sometimes with limited support – can be difficult to manage.Ĭlick image for more information about our March 9, 2023, webinar! #2: Provide an opportunity for your pastor to enjoy time awayĪ few months ago, I wrote about the importance of rest for pastors and church leaders. Many of us know that working one job is hard enough. You don’t know what other financial commitments they have or what they might like to do for their families that they haven’t been able to do for months or even years. But I also believe that giving them some financial support that they can use in the way that they see fit, is the best way to show appreciation. Yes, you can invite them to lunch or provide restaurant gift cards, or even purchase some much-needed supplies for them. Your congregation or church leadership should consider taking up a special offering, (outside of the tithe and offering used to support the church) to be a blessing to your pastor and their family. Serving a smaller church often makes it difficult for pastors to work full-time at the church and support their families, often not having a staff to help bear some of the weight of ministry.Īs a result, during this month, and prayerfully at other times throughout the year, making the weight financially easier for your pastor would be a great support. churchgoers attend a church with more than 250 each week. Half of all churches have fewer than 65 people in their weekly worship service. churches have 100 or fewer weekly worship service attendees. religious congregations revealed that 7 in 10 U.S. The 2020 Faith Communities Today study of more than 15,000 U.S. This is often necessary because the average church size is around 100 people or less. It’s important to understand that many pastors are bi-vocational, meaning they have another job outside of serving as the pastor or clergy for your congregation. > #1: Provide a special offering to bi-vocational pastors Not surprisingly, pastors list their need for support, as well as developing leaders to support the ministry, as primary concerns.Ĭombining the key takeaways of these studies with my experience in ministry, here are my thoughts on ways that your church can go about honoring pastors and clergy this month. Likewise, Lifeway Research released its “Greatest Needs of Pastors” study. In the “ Trends in the Black Church” report, Barna Research – in collaboration with Black Millennial Café and others – discuss how essential the pastor’s role is in the view of the congregation and those visiting the church. “Faith leaders hold multifaceted roles and are pivotal in driving engagement and community,” the report said.
