Of course, the big bad scientists are out to get their “biowitness.” Helena and Alex are now on the run from the scientists. This includes fashionable clothing, an aquarium, and even Coca-Cola. Helena is experiencing the human habitat for the first time. So, with a push from his virtual wolf therapist, Alex frees Helena from her confinement. Neither she nor Alex (nor Alex’s bosses) expected her to fall in love. She thinks she’s been floating in space, preparing to colonize a new planet. Helena is one of a group of “biowitnesses” who have spent their entire lives alone in Orbiters and are completely unaware of it. Humans are being used as guinea pigs to test the viability of humanity’s survival on the new planet. Scientists and the government have been working together on a massive project to get humans to Celeste. We learn that they are still on Earth when Alex steps out of the spacecraft! Helena has lived in one of ten underground vessels known as Orbiters since she was a baby. They fall in love, and the next day he leaves. So hunky Alex (lex González from X-Men: First Class), an engineer, arrives to fix her ship. Her ship, fortunately, requires maintenance. As a result, she spends her days isolated in the drab capsule, doing cardio and fantasizing about human contact. Helena’s spaceship is en route to Celeste, a distant planet because Earth has died and humans are searching for a new home.
